I do feel that way about certain characters, but there are many others that I would be just as happy to never see again.

Jen, I think the entire third season has happened in less than a week. I'm not sure why they're doing such a truncated timeline; it makes things feel way too rushed. And, I've thought many times that Gran would be horrified by the state her house is still in.katie71483https://www.blogger.com/profile/01630112624048325284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8686756265513466913.post-83017957978643097682010-08-10T15:43:52.998-05:002010-08-10T15:43:52.998-05:00Good point about the accents--I get so busy thinki...Good point about the accents--I get so busy thinking about how fake they are that I forget that they are completely unnecessary for characters from all over the world. If I moved from the northwest to the South, I would still talk in my native accent. Why can't Russell speak in his native accent?

My problem with the overabundance of drama is that it seems like they are trying to fit everything in before they get canceled. True Blood is safe, Alan Ball. As long as it gets viewers, press, and award nominations, HBO will be happy to keep it around. Give we viewers a little break--and give Sookie some time to fix her house up!Jenhttp://popculturecurmudgeon.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8686756265513466913.post-61471472287260703542010-08-10T15:29:16.881-05:002010-08-10T15:29:16.881-05:00So, I think that's definitely how I felt about...So, I think that's definitely how I felt about it in the beginning - it was *terrible* when it started, but in a really enjoyable way. Graphically sexual, sometimes graphically violent and gross, but also funny, and deliciously over the top. Right now, though, I feel like the problematic aspects are outnumbering the enjoyable ones.

I thought the last two eps were particularly bad - on top of all the other complaints, the dialogue was awful, and the pacing was off. At the end of those two episodes, I felt like I was glad it was over, not like I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

That said, I'll probably still watch the last few eps -- eye candy plus a possible late-game recovery. But I'm not particularly hopeful there.elisamaza76https://www.blogger.com/profile/00391901675763660772noreply@blogger.com
